Discussion of the election regulations and call for participation in the election to the 2nd Serbski Sejm

The Serbski Sejm Election Committee is presenting the draft key points for the election of the 2nd Serbski Sejm 2024 in Upper Lusatia and Lower Lusatia and putting them up for discussion. Everyone will have the opportunity to contribute their ideas and views to the organisation of the election process so that the election is broadly anchored in the Sorbian/Wendish people and it becomes „my“ Serbski Sejm for everyone.

Information will also be provided on the possibility of participating in the election committee (general organisation of the election), the election commission (actual conduct of the election) and the election observation council (monitoring).

All associations and initiatives are called upon to send representatives to these electoral bodies to ensure the highest democratic standards!

The events will take place in Lower and Upper Lusatia:

• Thursday, 21 March 2024 at 7 pm, Restaurant Jagdhof Drjenow/Drehnow, Hauptstraße 97
• Friday, 22 March 2024 at 7 pm, Restaurant Erbgericht Chrósćicy/Crostwitz, Hornigstraße 27

With the Serbski Sejm, a democratically legitimised representation of the people is made possible through the free election of a Sorbian/Wendish parliament. This is part of the right of peoples to self-determination (Article 1.1 of the UN Civil Pact) and does not require a legislative procedure by the state in which the people concerned live.
