Serbski Sejm declares the indigeneity of the Sorbian/Wendish people and demands the rights that go with it
At the session of the Serbski Sejm on 12 June 2021, after extensive discussions on the scope and wording, the declaration of indigeneity of the Sorbian/Wendish people and claiming the rights that go with it were adopted.
In a ceremonial act in front of the kindergarten named after the Sorbian/Wendish freedom fighter Jan Skala - symbolising past, present and future - the old age president, Edith Pjeńkowa, signed the declaration document. A copy of this will now be sent to the United Nations International Labour Organisation (ILO) based in Geneva.
