Serbski Sejm demands moratorium on destruction
The „Study on the Revision of LEAG's Revierkonzept 2021 - Utilisation of the Sonderfeld Mühlrose is Not Necessary from an Energy Economic Point of View“ by the German Institute for Economic Research (Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e.V.) has once again independently determined that the coal below Miłoraz/Mühlrose is no longer needed. The facts of the matter are now very clear. Nevertheless, LEAG is already demolishing Miłoraz/Mühlrose step by step. In the end, a desolation left behind will stand as a memorial to this act of senseless destruction of Sorbian cultural landscape by LEAG, which is currently taking place.
In order not to continue creating irreversible facts, the Serbski Sejm demands an immediate moratorium on destruction from LEAG and politicians.
However, this demand does not call into question the existing Mühlrose resettlement contract: those who want to receive their compensation and build a new home elsewhere should still be able to do so. After all, recultivation will continue to cause dirt and noise in Mühlrose for many years to come. But moving away must not leave scorched earth, i.e. razed houses in a village that continues to live with prospects for the future.
