Election commission for the 2nd Serbski Sejm announces candidates

At its meeting on 10 December 2024 in Nebelschütz, the election commission for the election of the second Serbski Sejm decided on the nominations of candidates received. 20 persons of Lower Sorbian/Wendish confession and 19 persons of Upper Sorbian confession were admitted.

In the coming days, postal voting documents will be sent out to registered voters. All citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany who feel they belong to the Sorbian people still have the opportunity to register for the election until 27 February 2025. To ensure that the election process runs smoothly, early registration is requested at www.serbski-sejm-24.de.

The Sorbian/Wendish people will elect 12 Lower Sorbian/Wendish and 12 Upper Sorbian deputies to the Serbski Sejm. The election represents an important contribution to greater self-determination, cohesion and self-confidence of the Sorbian/Wendish people and is organised on a voluntary basis with great commitment.
